2025: A Year of Empowerment, Growth, and New Chapters

2025 was a year filled with powerful moments, meaningful progress, and new chapters across all our focus areas. Building on the stories we shared throughout the year on social media, we now want to take a step back and reflect on what this year truly meant. It was a year shaped by strong women, growing educational opportunities, and sustainable solutions that continue to strengthen families and communities.

Empowering Women to Shape Their Own Futures

Women’s empowerment remained at the heart of our work in 2025. Through our sewing courses, 29 women gained practical skills that support financial independence and self confidence.

One particularly inspiring milestone was Elvia’s successful completion of her law degree, a journey defined by perseverance and courage, and a powerful reminder of what becomes possible when women are supported in their education.

At the same time, our fundraising efforts made it possible to provide 42 menstrual cups, giving women and girls greater autonomy, dignity, and long term health benefits.

A completely new chapter opened this year with the launch of the first women only group trips in collaboration with Explorengo. These journeys created safe spaces for connection, exchange, and empowerment, and marked an important step in strengthening female  community beyond borders.

Opening Doors Through Education and Opportunity

Education continued to be a key driver of change throughout the year. In Suchitepéquez, we proudly founded the region’s first football club, creating a new space for children and young people to grow, learn teamwork, and build confidence through sport.

In total, 111 children were enrolled in school in 2025, which represents 23 more students than the year before. This growth reflects not only increased access to education, but also the trust families place in our programs.

Another important milestone was the publication of our very first English learning book, developed to support children on their educational path in a playful and accessible way.

Our Guardian Angel Program also continued to grow. In 2025, we welcomed six new Guardian Angels, bringing the total to 34 supporters who are committed to opening doors to education and future opportunities for children.

Strengthening Families Through Sustainable Solutions

Meeting basic needs in a sustainable way remained essential to our work. In collaboration with Seeds for a Future, we supported families in building 33 home gardens that are now flourishing and providing fresh, healthy food for self sufficiency. Due to the great success and positive impact of this project, it has been extended for another year, allowing even more families to benefit.

Alongside this, additional gas stoves were installed, bringing the total to 54 families who no longer have to cook over open fire. This change significantly improves daily life and protects the health of entire families, especially women and children who were previously exposed to harmful smoke.

As we look back on 2025, we do so with deep gratitude for everyone who has been part of this journey. Each project, each story, and each milestone is a reminder that lasting change happens step by step, chapter by chapter. And this story is far from over.
